And I thought I would do pretty awful, but it wasn't bad. It went well enough that I had the stones to attempt Crazy G, and I got my brother-in-law to record it...

So if you feel at all confident enough, go find an open mic somewhere! I asked some guy who happened to be playing guitar on the street if he knew of any. I have no idea how to find them, but they're out there!

Go play in front of people! It'll be a novelty for them to see a uke player at all (unless you're in Hawaii), so there's ten cool points for you just for walking in with a uke!

Awesome! I just played one last night. People definitely love you by default with a uke. Breaks up the monotony of 15 people with acoustic guitars playing open chords and the same strumming pattern.

I can't wait to get home and see the videos. I also encourage everyone to play open mics, you'll get hooked to the rush! I found my local ones through google.

Congrats beej!

is every person on this forum trying to access your vid, cos it aint playing for me - everything else on youtube is?

Hang on, got it now

Man you did good!

Congratulations, mate. :D :music:

dude that was awesome...great job!!!

Awesome! Congrats!

I find a lot of open mics (and dates with trannies) on Craigslist. There are also websites that list them near your area. Let me know the next time you play in Winchester. I might be able to make the trip up.

Great job. I have a friend that played his uke and sang at an open mic. He was the last player, he blew them away. All eyes turned to him, he really got their attention.

GOOD job man! Instrumentals are so hard to do in front of ppl... I wish I could find more open mics around here...

Will do.

It would be really nice if that happened to me... :)
