ive been thinking about making my second ukulele a 6 string,
and I've been wondering...

when playing a 6 string, how do you go about the picking?
is it the same picking as a 4 string?
do you only pluck one of the doubled strings, or both of them?

thanks:D

I plucked both b/c they are very close together and if you were an expert you might be able to pick just one but I think that the average to above average player would pick the pair (I could be wrong). When you make a chord the pair is pressed at the same time. It isn't that difficult just takes a little time to get used to.

Pluck both... same as flat picking a mandolin. Think of them as one string.

Some will tell you 6 and 8 string ukes are for strumming only - they would be wrong.

I will say that double courses take a little getting used to, but pick away.
