Since my girls are with their mother this week, I took the unwanted Chrissie Prezzie (black sparkly Makala Dolphin -- she'll be getting a Lanikai LU21 now) out from under my bed to play around with. Boy does it sound bright!
It has the molded plastic back and sides, and a thin laminated top. I inspected it, to try to discover how it makes the noise it does -- my other laminated uke is much more difficult to coax a sound out of -- and discovered that there is no bracing inside. None at all.
Could this be the secret to the loud, bright Makala sound?
