Penguin Cafe Orchestra

The link above is to a great online radio station here in Australia called DIG radio that plays non-stop music from all genres....but only GOOD music.
So you know how it is...you're listening to the radio and your ears tweak and you think "Hey...thats a ukulele!" They were playing this track:

I looked up the track listing, it was the Penguin Cafe Orchestra and the uke features.
Lots of good stuff and a little on the quirky and wistful side...but that's the uke for ya', eh?
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=tncstULwFPY (this is a solo track from a guy who obviously LOVES his very well worn soprano)

Enjoy! :)

I know "Harmonium" well. I first heard it played by Patrick Street, a band featuring Andy Irvine the mandolin and mandola player from the mighty Planxty and fiddle player Kevin Burke from the Bothy Band. Great tune.

Here's the Patrick Street version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PltA5woXKaA

IIRC, the gentleman who wrote it passed away from illness in the late 1990s and thus the Penguin Cafe Orchestra came to an end. Very sad.

Splendid piece of music.

The uke piece is also nice. Thanks for the tab.
