Hey!

I learned playing the uke 7 months ago and short time after, I learned to adore the uke! I used for the beginning the old uke from my father; but in a few days I'll get for birthday a new one - my own one!!!
So, what else about me? I come from Germany, I hope my english isn't that bad and ... I love the french language :)
I'm 23 (it'll change in a few days *lol*), and I learn at the moment to pick. For me, it's a hard progress... you have to concentrate on all fingers - those who play the chords and those you will pick... :) But I'll do it!

Best wishes,
Hiladih

Thanks for your greetings!
@ Professor Palmer: Thx for your compliment! I don't know, why I'm so sticked to the french, but for me it's a very melodic language.

For those who are interested, I've got a channel on youtube (surprise, surprise). I'm LaMeldoieHiladih.

Bye!

Salut! I am glad to meet another French speaker here! I wonder if you know any website for Ukulele tab for famous French songs? I mean Jacque Brel and the like. I really feel like singing some French songs but 1. can't find tabs, a lot of French websites have tabs for English songs 2. Doesn't seem to have a lot of songs for women!!!

Any thoughts?:)

Thanks for all the answers!!!

@alicecat: bienvenue, bienvenue! :) yeah, it's difficult to find some good songs. That's why I play and sing the most songs in english... hmmm... I don't know many french pages. But perhaps you'll find some chansons on this pages:

http://www.ukulele.fr/
http://www.ukulpic.fr/
http://people.southwestern.edu/~prevots/songs/

C'est pas beaucoup, mais c'est malheureusement tout.

You find only the famous songs... Tell me if you find more :)

This is one of those French dilemma. They are proud of their language but they sing in English...(I actually did a research for my bachelor on just this subject). Now that I married a Quebecois, I realise they actually mean business when they come to protection their French. Will our quebecois friends have better source? Speak up if you do please...merci.

You're right, alicecat! Although there's a law in France that xx % of all songs there have to be french songs... but the charts are full of english ones... especcially for the uke it isnt that esay to find some good songs to cover.

So, have we to make our one french songs? ;)
