So, I've worked out a version of dueling banjos for the ukulele a (after watching various clips of others playing in on youtube and shamelessly mixing and matching their versions into one easy enough for me to play).

And I'm going to make a video of myself playing the song for the Bushman Ukulele contest. I guess I could just record both parts myself...

But I thought it might be more fun to join forces with someone else from UU.

(and really really cool if that person had the editing software to make a split screen.)

Anyways... Anyone interested? I'm currently working on the TAB for my arrangement and should have it done in a week or two (have to worry about finishing my finals first...)

Here is the original in case anyone isn't familiar...

And here are some of the videos I used as a reference:

I dont have video capabilities....but I would love to get my hands on that tab?

Alright! Excellent.

I'm working on the TABs and will send them to Grammy and post them here on the boards this weekend.

If I am not too busy, I might be able to do the video edit for you. I can do split screen, and other special effects. It all depends on my unpredictable work schedule though. It seems like you might need to be creative in shooting your video, to make your video entertaining enough for multiple views. You might consider thinking about how to make the duel more dramatic by using different camera angles. Your fellow players would have to do similar shots, to make it all work together effectively. Think of doing insert shots showing close-up details of the players (hands, eyes, ears, strings, sweat on the brow). Or maybe think about telling a story of some kind. I know it's not original by any means, but it could be entertaining as a parody.

I was going to do a dueling ukes last year for the contest: a Banjolele and Uke, but I couldn't find a Banjolele.... Haha!

I have actually performed the song a few times with a Banjo player. It is too much fun.

I'd love to do it if you still need someone to do it.

I've got my three entries covered (two still in production), so I'd have to be uncredited, but it sounds like fun, so if people let you down, shout me.

I'd duet with you but I have a feeling my presence would kill your chances in a Bushman contest.

Oh, wow! I didn't expect so many people to answer!

Well, like I said I'm working on the tab and if doing a duet is better than going solo I think we could totally do a group video.

@RevWill: I could care less about winning- I just want to have fun and make a really nice video (but, as hinted at earlier- my video editing abilities are slim to none...)

Double post, but- whatever.

I decided I was sick of studying tonight and finished up the TAB.

Probably riddled with mistakes, but, meh.

Here it is:

Now the question remains: how many want to join in and make the video, and how to arrange the parts so it seems like we are having a UU picking showdown?

(and if anyone wants to add to the tab by messing around with the melody/ strumming patters- I say go for it! As I said earlier, I just did it like the way I posted because I'm not good enough of a player to be more intricate than that...)
