t shirt sizes,

hi i would like to buy a t shirt but i am unsure about us sizes, i guess in the uk i would be large, i dont know the equivalent us size. anyone help?

The ladies style shirt runs on the small side. My medium was a little tighter than I expected. Still wearable, but I should have chosen a large.
