I recently came across this article and I have to say, I find myself fascinated with the idea of my own little harp ukulele. I'm sure they're incredibly expensive and a bother to maintain and frustratingly unversatile, but they're so cute!

Does anybody round here have any experience with these weird instruments?

aka the Picasso 'Ukulele. :D

That was a really fascinating link, it's the first time I've seen anything about those kinds of ukes. (must not relapse UAS must not relapse UAS...)

neat link, but most of them look like birth defects to me.

I was going to suggest some kind of mutant conjoined twins...or a wood tumor...not even a hint of UAS for me, and that says a LOT!! Wait a tick...how's about conjoined Tenor and say..a Baritone sharing a bout? GuUlllllppppp! What have I DONE!!!

That pretty much sums up my response, especially to the ones with no extra strings: the "arm" seems like a mutant useless extra appendage. But if the arm supports extra strings with some acoustical function, that could be different. Then again, such complications seem to be contrary to the simple, unpretentious character I find in the uke.
