Just an update: I found an inexpensive dynamic karaoke mic I had laying around (from a karaoke unit I was given years ago as a Christmas present) and recorded a new vocal with it plugged into my Zoom PS-04. I think it's much more natural sounding than the first one, which was done with the little built-in mic on my Zoom PS-04.

Using the outboard mic also eliminates the background noise I always get when using the little built-in condenser mic on the Zoom. Removing that background noise with the Audacity "noise removal" tool always seems to make the vocal sound odd. With this mic, I can bypass that step.
