I have a left hand issue. If I press the G string at a seemingly slight angle, it slides off the neck. I know to correct the problem I need to press straight down but doing it while playing is something else. Especially when stretching my finger for a higher fret placement. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. That low G is expensive! $6.27 for one string? However, it sounds like it is the best of both worlds.

No problem. I guess it is a little pricey, but I really like it. I tried just about all the unwound low g strings out there and couldn't find one that worked for me. I use the Savarez trebles too. I think they feel and sound great.

I did have a concert uke on which the strings were really too close to the fretboard edge. Change of strings and technique didn't do the business, so I replaced the nut and cut the new one so the G and A were not so close to the edge. Worked a treat - took about 30 minutes to fit and set up the new nut from a bone blank. Probably the quickest one I've ever done.
