I just bought a few Herco humidifiers. There is no room in my soprano case for the humidifier except for in the little compartment under the neck. My question is : Will the humidifier keep the uke humidified if it is in the compartment or will it just humidify the compartment?

The compartment in the case should work fine to help humidify your uke.

That's where I keep all my humidifiers. Plus that way they won't bounce around in the case and damage the uke.

If you are in an especially dry climate, it might be a good idea to get one that slips between the strings into the body as well. I have a Dampit, and it is just a rubber tube with foam inside. No fears of it dinging up the uke.
