thanks for the link - what a neat project. Looks like for the cost of a tambourine and neck/fingerboard (and a couple pieces of wood, etc) - you'd be able to build your own banjolele for well under $50. I took a listen to the sample mp3, and to my (completely untrained!) ears - it sounded surprisingly good!

Yep I can't see that tambourine model working either but, it sure is neat to see someone else who browses Goodwill auction site
