So for christmas I got a few extra bucks from relatives and I'm really wanting a pineapple uke. It would be my first uke.

What are some good ones for under $100.

Does anyone have input about the new kamoa?

I also like the kala

and finally the luna

I bought a uke for my girlfriend and after seeing how much fun it looks , Im getting one for myself.
Hopefully we'll do some uke duets ahaha.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I lust that Kamoa as it is, so that would be my choice.
People who have those novelty Kalas adore them. The binding on them is gorgeous.
I've got the Luna Honu soprano. It's got a fantastic neck, but the finishing on the body is very shabby. It's sweet, but of these three choices you list, not the one to go for.

First Uke, Christmas Gift!

Aloha... you are in great company! I just asked that my Christmas gift be a Kala Concert Ukulele (KA-C model ) I have it now, just after xmas and I must say I love it! I specifically wanted to stay in your price range too less than $100. Well, the Kala concert is right at $99 from several vendors! The Kala includes free shipping and a premium gig bag! It is a satin finish, which I also wanted and aquila strings (right on) Great Ukulele for the money, great sound, perfect intonation and excellent action and playability. 5-starz* I think you would be pleased! yea I kind of wanted a concert too but does anyone make pineapple concert for under 100

You can't go wrong with Kala, or Lanikai and I haven't heard anything but good comments about their pineapple's. I don't know of anyone making a concert size pineapple anywhere near $100, but Melokia makes a solid mahogany pineapple for about $110 and I know they have them listed on ebay right now.

I just got a Luna concert (dolphin) and an Ohana CK-75CG. The finish is fantastic on both of them. The sound is similar, but I feel that the Ohana is a bit clearer and easier to play. But then again, the Luna is an acoustic electric which will give me another set of sounds to play with.

What did you decide?

I love that Tattoo Soprano pineapple ukulele, that is really awesome and I think that will be worth to buy and that will be your good investment. I also really got interest in buying that. I really like the model too much.
