View Full Version : Pupukea Ukuleles from japan - Any experience ?

I just came across an offer concerning a Pupukea Ukulele. Those Ukuleles are made by Fujigen in Japan which is one of the biggest guitar factories and enjoys a good reputation when it comes to building a good guitar.

I wonder if there is somebody in here who has made some experience with Pupukea Ukuleles so far?

Thanks and greetings from Germany

Nobody? Sry for being a little bit pushy but I have the chance to get a Pupukea UF-Custom for a good price and all I can find are japanese shops that sell this Ukulele for ~120000 JPY which is equal to ~900 Euro

I have never seen them outside of Japan, usually on Youtube vids by Japanese artist. Like everything else Japan made it won't be junk. I don't think you can go wrong if the price is right.

I've ran across their website (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.ai-on.jp/products/pupukea.html&ei=XhVCS5rxNoLOsQPr4uW_BA&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CA4Q7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3DPupukea%2BUkulele%26hl%3Den%26client% 3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26hs%3DVr) a couple of times . . . but I don't know of anyone who has a Pupukea. Sorry! Just a FYI, Pupukea translated means small white shell and it's also the name of a beach on the north shore of Oahu.
