i'm looking for a replacement (or replacements) planetary-style tuning peg for my Gold Tone banjolele. I can't seem to find anything that's specifically for the banjolele or what type/brand Gold Tone uses for theirs. they are friction tuners, so as long as i'm replacing them, would geared planetary tuners be a better move? if so, what type?

thanks for any help you can offer!

Hey, Drewgrass...welcome to UU! As far as replacing the friction tuners...I believe they're probably Grover Sta-tites. Here is a replacement (other colors available): http://elderly.com/accessories/names/deluxe-uke-tuners-set-of-4-friction-pegs-nickel-w/--4WN.htm. There are replacement planetary tuners made by Peghed. They are not cheap, and they may be too skinny to fit properly in the existing hole. Definately measure the existing hole before ordering yourself a set. Link: http://elderly.com/accessories/items/PHUP1.htm
