Can I use a regular classical guitar string as a Low G string? and which one then?
Or do I have to go out of my way and order one seperately? I don't have an instrument store in my town anymore. So I'm thinking of what elese I can use.

Well, any advice would be helpfull :)

I just put a classical guitar D string D'Addario Pro Arte on my tenor last week so far sounds pretty good.Only thing is you get a lot of noise from slidding fingers over the sting.Hope this helps.

Yeah, D is the one.

I have to say though, I prefer proper uke low Gs. On my tenor I find the guitar D's to have more tension than I like. :(

I will try them both out :) but right now it's good to know I can use a D string in the mean time. I kinda like tension on the strngs though. We shalll see...

I also use a d'addario classical guitar 'D' string on my tenor fluke. Of the low G strings I've tried so far it is my favorite. I'd like to find a non-wound low G that I liked but haven't found it yet. I've tried worth and fremont.
