Charming

Hello everyone,

It might sound silly, but I'd like to know how to hang a charm from my uke like Aldrine does sometimes without messing with the sound. Is this something that has to be done with the strings off? My father brought back a little pewter tiki when he was in the Navy years ago and I'd like to hang it. See the picture for an example but I'm quite sure you know what I'm talking about.

When I hung something off mine, I just took a small line of hemp and tied it into a slip knot. Then I just sort of lasso'd it around the headstock underneath the strings.

I had almost forgotten about the charm thingy... I used to hang stuff off the end of my guitar or bass or whatever I was playing. I usually just tied on whatever I had with a short length of leather cord. Need to dig out that little silver uke charm that my friend gave me last year.

Maybe something you might want to keep in mind is whether or not the item might scratch the headstock or not.
