Hey everyone, I just found a ukulele yesterday and am looking to get started playing it. While I have an issue with a loose neck (detailed here http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/f...bie-needs-help-just-got-an-old-uke-loose-neck --I think it got messed up with people using guitar strings on it rather than ukulele strings...), I am also in need of strings and getting it up and going.
The instrument itself, I believe, is a 1960s Harmony and either a Baritone or Tenor. It looks identical to this one: http://antebelluminstruments.blogspot.com/2009/09/c1960-harmony-baritone-ukulele.html though I am not sure on the size-- mine may be smaller than that one, though I don't think it is. Mine seems like a big tenor or a small baritone, I am not sure exactly how it is to be measured to figure this out. This is creating an issue as I need to get some new strings and don't know what to buy!
So, I guess my question would be how do I figure out what string size should I be purchasing? What exactly need I measure to get to the bottem of the Tenor/Baritone issue? Also, if my neck is a little loose, would it just damage the instrument more to get strings on it?
