Song Help Request How do I strum only three strings?

When it comes to strumming three consecutive strings, I either use my thumb to strum them - because you can get better control on stopping and starting IMHO, OR if it's the lower three strings, you can bring your left thumb (assuming you're right handed) over the neck and use it to mute the g string. I tend towards the first option myself.

Another option which may not sound as good, but can work if you're picking, is to pick the three strings at the same time.

with some practice it becomes no sweat man. or you could just mute the string you don't want played.

or just pluck all three strings you want to play just pull up on them all at once.
