It exists. If I remember correctly, a luthier created it to prove a point.

uh.....

That's obscene.... Imagine having to change the strings on it. You'd spend more time tuning it than playing it. :rolleyes:

What was his point? That he had to much free time? You know what they say. Beauti is in the eys of the beholder. It is an interesting looking piece of art and it must have taken a great deal of skill and time to make. That said, please cover that thing so the children do see it and have nightmares!

It would be cool to have some of the sympathetic strings, but not that many. Talk about stringing up a bomb. If that thing breaks it would probably kill the guy playing it.

Not "his", but rather "hers." This is an experimental art piece commissioned by Pat Metheny. He found Canadian luthier Linda Manzer and she agreed to take on the task. She makes more "standard" instruments as well, along with some odd ones.
