I was thinking of getting the Kala thin soprano, since it packs such a loud uke sound in such a small body.
But I have a thing for every uke in my collection having electric capability, and was wondering whether the small body places the installation of an active pickup out of the question.

I was thinking that the Mi-Si acoustic trio might work, as it doesn't have the bulky tone/volume controls the other actives have.
What do you think?

I guess if the Mi-Si is totally out of the question, I'd have to settle for a passive. But I would really like something active if possible.

Yes it would. Installation might be a bit more challenging, though, working in that small space. :)

Why not wait a little bit, Kala will have a Traveler with a pick up installed.

what do uke makers have against factory-fitting pickups on sopranos :(
they're so rare.
