From this thread: Please Help!: Kamaka vs. Kanile'a?
http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?17931-Please-Help!-Kamaka-vs-Kanile-a
This is a totally newbie question, but what constitutes the four K's of "top-rated" ukuleles? From the discussion here and other places, I figured it includes Kamaka, Kanile'a, and KoAloha. So what would be the fourth? Kelii? Koa Works? Kiwaya? Kala?
I know it is mostly personal preference, but aside from that criterion, what would place these makers on the top of the list? After reading user reviews from KoAloha owners, and some of KoAloha Paul's responses to posters, I am inclined to go with KoAloha as my first high-quality* solid koa ukulele. I am highly impressed that an actual maker of these fine ukes would personally answer these questions and post comments, and shows (at least to me) their dedication to customer support, even though I am not a customer... yet.
Just wondering (since I am doing extensive online research for my future upgrade).
*Note that I purposely did NOT say "real" or "true" when referring to the upscale ukes.

I think any one of the four K's would be a great choice.
