I was feeding my new habit of dropping by the local music store and playing all the ukes today - hey its cheap entertainment, and they get em all tuned up for free. Anyway, I played another cheap azz uke I had never heard of. It was an Excel baritone selling for $45. I didn't have enough time to really give it a thorough going over, but it seemed pretty hefty and reasonably well made in the one minute review I did. It had a decent tone (as far as I could tell in a noisy music store). I see some places even sell them for under $40 online.

It has to a piece of junk for that price right?

Anyone ever played one?

If it came in a rainbow of colors, they could probably sell a lot of them [g].

That is the cheapest baritone i've ever seen. Even cheaper than the Mahalo.
Yet it looks better made, most likely made in the same factory as one of the well known, affordable brands.
