I need a song I can play for my wife's 40th birthday suprise party. something recognizible, yet interesting to play. Been playing for about 1 year now. Does anyone have any suggestions for a song?

are you looking for something like a balad type slow jam? or are you looking for something more upbeat?

do you guys have a special song for each other?

I was looking for something up beat that sang about her age and putting up with me. But your right, a revised bday song with a couple new lyrics would be nice.

ohh maybe like a Beatles song, like Help, Yesterday, or something. or maybe a Jack Johnson song.

you can do the song from the wedding singer... grow old with you.

its a real easy song and sounds great on the uke. matter of fact im thinking about covering it if there arent already a bagillion uke covers of that song.

I got it from Chordie.com. its a great site. catagorized by song and artist. tab and chords and it will transpose to different instruments like uke guitar, etc. if you not aware of it check it out. i get about 80% of my music from there if i dont figure it out myself. the others are from tropica storm hawaii site.

yeah its a 6 string. ive got two of em. i like them. but mostly because of the way they look with the slotted headstock.

that ekolu song would be pretty cool too. but, personally, it would be kinda difficult to sing.
