Maccaferri plastic ukuleles Vs. New Japanese plastic

The new one sounds mellower than the old one, so I got it all wrong. I thought plastic would lose its acoustic properties over the course of 60 years, but apparently it doesn't. Great video -- now I can stop being curious.

I really enjoyed the video - all 9 minutes of it! I have never owned a plastic uke, but I think I might like an Islander. I was impressed!

I have 2 Islanders, a soprano and a baritone. They are really surprisingly good-sounding instruments, imo.
