The way the strings are bound to the bridge on my new Kala ukulele they are all bound together and cut off at the top of the bridge. Unfortunately they tend to catch on my wrist, or on the sleeve of my jacket, as I strum. Is there a reason why they are not bound at the bottom?
Nope, no reason. It just seems to be the comfortable way for right handed people to wrap 'em. Sometimes I wrap my loops the other way so the pokey end is at the bottom, but I usually forget until I get a scratch from the protruding end. Occasionally I have some going one way and some the other... It all works and holds tuning perfectly well.
