I have a couple of sets of the D'addario Pro Arte strings for my tenor and concert with the high g string, and would like to know which Pro Arte string you would recommend for low g? I understand these are classical guitar strings and would like to be able to just buy the single string for the low g locally.

I have had good luck with the D'addario guitar "D" string to replace a low G.
It seems as though I go through several wound strings before I where out the plain strings.
The winding separates at the frets contact point.
I tried a low g plain and the intonation was way off.

I also use a d'addario classical guitar 'D' string for my low g. And, like sailinguke, I go through a at least a couple of those before I change the non-wound worth clear strings that I use.

The one I use is this one... D'Addario Pro-Arte D Normal Tension Silverplated .029, J4504
