I was thinking of getting Neil Griffin's CHORD SOLOS book

which say is for C tuning. Can somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but C tuning is standard GCEA is it not? The thing is if you look at the chord diagrams on the tab samples, they are not chords for standard tuning. I'm sure there's simple explanation and one of you guys can enlighten me and send me to the back of the class pronto!

Anyone know where I can find chord solo tabs? My wife loves it when I play chord solos (and she's the one getting me the new uke, but that'll be another post when the time comes ;-)

Yes, it is standard GCEA tuning. The chords in the examples are not tab but are standard chords in C tuning. The explanation is that each chord can be played in several positions. If you just strumming along you tend to play the chord that is closest to the nut. If you are also trying to play the notes of the tune, the chord position often needs to be further up the fingerboard. it also sometimes needs to be altered slightly to enable the note of the tune to be played.

JUST PROVES MY IGNORANCE!!!

Thank you Ken Middleton, I feel a total wally now, but I am a little wiser thanks to you. I've got a long way to go, but I'm stubborn and I'll get there!

Now for the chord solos....
