Bleeding Love (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=obWQB6mNaFs) by Leona Lewis. Plus it's only 4 chords so nothing impossibly hard

Depends on how you define "recent":

I'm Yours - Jason Mraz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6YurqE0YZQ)
New Soul - Yael Naim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCZoGhrNyAs)
Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3T9KYVhVnI)
Umbrella - Rihanna (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVDPpC5uBo0)
Bubbly - Colbie Caillat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1_CenG2QPk)
Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iLW6BrZlmI)
Sugar, We're Going Down - Fall Out Boy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L66eQq4z03U)
I'll Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab For Cutie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqN_HdqSJ0)
Apologize - One Republic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hZSlSVsshA)
First Day Of My Life - Bright Eyes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFLi6iGUJ3I)

Jack Johnson's "Breakdown"
Donovan Frankenriter's "Free"
The strum for Free is dddud I think, thats what is sounds like when I play it to the CD, still tryin to figure out the strum for Breakdown.

You can find them at www.brokedownmelodies.com and both are played on a Ukulele.

This song transposes nicely onto the uke.

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/s/streetlight_manifesto/thatll_be_the_day_acoustic_crd.htm

The main riff can be played on the A and E strings, like this

A--2-2-3-2---------2-2-3-2--5-3-2-2-3-2-.------2-2-3-3--2
E--0-0------3-2-0--0-0-----3-----0-0-----3-2-0-0-0-3-3--2

(you can figure it out if you listen to the Streetlight Manifesto version, it's what they play on an electric bass in the very beginning)

While not very recent (idk, does the 70s count?) I like the song Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads on the uke.

I'm yours is always a winner, but alot of people are learning how to play it now, so it's lost it's thrill......

I usually get attention when I play Touch my Body (holla Aldrine!) and Perfect Together.
Whenever I hear sum1 play Perfect Together, I say "you know who wrote that song, right?" The answer shows a lot

I love this skating video set to Jack Johnsons "Staple it Together"
Chords are eeeeesy peasy but its the rhythm of the strum that drives this tune.
Start with an Am (2nd fret G string) then quickly add the 3rd fret A string, followed by a D in the format where you bar the 2nd fret and add the 5th fret on the A string.
The chorus "Staple it Together" is simply G and C.
LISTEN to the strumming....its very very funky. You can give the above simple chords lots of dark and shade and emphasis on certain beats and thrash your little uke within an inch of its life.
Go for it!

Before I knew by Canadian Basia Bulat. And the plus is that the original is played on an actual uke!!! See vid of Bulat and the song here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNmXekrpu6I)
