I've been looking at these "Martin" laminated necks..has anyone had a go at making a neck like this?
whats the wood used? and what adhesive is used? are they any good?

This type of laminate has been around for several years being used in making rifle stocks. The wood is usually birch and I believe each veneer is impregnated with polymer before lamination so it is VERY stable against changes in humidity. You can get these laminated wood blanks with alternating colors in the veneers. You'd never have to worry about a neck warping. All straight vertical grain so very strong.
 
They would be quite heavy. I know the gunstocks are really heavy. Which in a gun is good. I kinda like the look.
