I just bought a new to me Kala Baritone ukulele strung with a low g set of aquilas but it came with a set of standard baritone strings as well. I'm debating switching to see what I like more. The obvious question then is, would the low g set of strings still be okay to use if I'd want to switch back?

I don't think it would be a problem but I'd be less willing to try a change now with nothing to switch back to.

Reusing old strings is usually fine! I bring a used set with me everywhere in case of emergencies. A few times the old strings were so worn out that they were on the verge of breaking (big sharp gouges from the frets) so I tossed 'em, but if they're not mangled beyond recognition, it's worth saving your old ones.

I always save my old ones, at least for a bit. I usually migrate my nice strings from my nice ukulele down to my crappy Hilo.

'Ukulele and fiddle... the only instruments on which I'd do that.

On uke, no problem as long as the strings aren't 4 years old and knackered.
