Hi!
After all this problems with youtube shutting people down because of copyright and crap I had an idea, why not start a clean ukuleletube?
I own the domain ukevids.com and I want to get some feedback on how we might be able to make this idea come to life.
The biggest problem would be bandwidth i belive since videos tend to suck it up like a 1 month baby drink its mommas milk.
But im sure there is some way around that also. I have not yet started to look around at companies that sell bandwith in bulkdeals.
Second problem would be a tubescript. But I know there are a few out there for sale so nothing is impossible, we just have to agree to one and get it.
Third problem is funding. Would people be prepared to donate for the sites survival? I was thinking on a idea I use at another forum I run where all the costs are out in the open and shown to the users. In that way everyone can see how we stand and how much money we got to work with or how much money we are missing to stay alive. It has worked out real well on my forum.
So what is the positive things?
Well for one, all ukuleleplayers gathared at the same site!
We could have contests if companies would like to sponsor us each months for example.
We would be free from huge corporations.
I would suggest us to make some kind of companystructure (sorry dont know the name) with a group of maby 6-7 people for making decisions and to handle problems that might turn up.
Anyway this is just and idea that struck me when I saw them starting to shut down ukulelechannels on youtube. I know I am not the only one who are on my toes about my channel getting shut down.
Your ideas and thought about this? Is it possible, do you think it would work?
