just wanted to share my latest bastardization of a Grizzly Uke Kit. i got the idea from the Voyage-Air folding guitars and thought it might be fun to make a folding uke. turns out it was probably more travel friendly and compact before the modifications. anyway, here it is for your amusement.

hey Carlo, the hinge leaves are countersunk into the neck and body so there are no protruding sharp edges.

I can't tell very well but it looks like you could take a little off the back of the fretboard you cut off and glue it right on top of the hinge to have your 11th. You'd have wood to push on for the hinged 12th too. Now you have me wanting to make one. Nice job.

If you do the neck like the Northern, and have the strings bend down instead of the headstock, it would fold quite flat. You could sneak it into any public liberry then.

Yeah, you need a fender-type head that doesn't bend back. And geared tuners would save vertical space. And you need a sprung spool under the bridge to keep the strings neat when it's folded. And you need to hide most of the hinge under the fretboard.

Apart from that, I like it.
