I was going to put a room humidifier in the room where I keep my guitars and ukuleles and close the door. I have my computer in the same room. Will the humidifier do harm to the computer? Right now in my room the humidity is 38% and I'd like to bring it up
to 45 or 50. Will this be too much for the computer? Will it matter at all? A friend told me it might damage my computer but I think he is wrong. I have Hercos in the cases.
50% humidity won't damage your computer at all. 90% humidity wouldn't damage your computer at all for that matter. As long as the water remains evaporated, it won't cause any damage. What can damage chips is when water creates a connection that electrical current can travel through from one circuit to another, and that current will fry the other circuits. You'll be just fine.
