I have one. I adore it. An ebay purchase, and now I'm thinking I got pretty lucky. Seems the cigar box ukes are just skyrocketing in price. Is it a supply and demand thing that fits with the dizzying heights of popularity the ukulele is currently experiencing?
So, what is it about them?
There's kinda this faux-humble thing going on with them visually.
I do like the sound on mine.
What makes us love these?

They sorta take me back to another time, which has a feeling of mojo. Also, I love a good cigar from time to time.

Well, I do love my Bonnie, and I think it's a little bit nostalgia and supply/demand... plus they just look and sound good, so you get a lot of bang for the buck!

Part of the fun is making them yourself. It's pretty satifsying to play an instrument that you made.

2nd that.

make your own, if you are too chicken, by a cheap uke with good intonation and mount it on a cigar box
