I almost exclusively play in low G tuning. However, these voicings will work for both reentrant and low G. Whenever I can, I try to use open strings combined with higher-fretted notes. It provides more depth and dynamics to a chord. Here's an example for a G7 chord: 0,5,7,5 (it's easiest to barre). Or here's a GM9. It sounds best playing from the A string down to the G (low G in my case): 0,6,7,0. Now slide it down one fret for a Gm9 chord: 0,5,6,0.
