String Surprise

I bought a used Kala tenor for my nephew and had a chance to pay around with it before giving it to him.
It's a Koa laminate and sounds really nice, but definately a step below my Kala Acacia....
...except for the Low G, which sounded better on the Koa laminate, and had surprising long resonance.
As it turns out, all the strings on it were Aquilas, except for the wound Low G which was Hilo. To double check this effect, I swapped the G's between instruments, and sure enough it just keeps ringing.
I'm generally an Aquila fan, but wow the Hilo makes the Aquila G sound dead in comparison.
Anyone know if you can just buy G's by Hilo?
...also, how do the rest of the strings compare to Aquila?

I just emailed them.

Since there is no Hilo distributor in my area (Chicago) I was able to order from Bob at Pegasus Guitar and Ukulele directly.
To make it worth the shipping and effort I stocked up on half-o-dozen wound low G's.
IMO they really do compliment Aquilas better: more resonance & less boomy.
