The morning and part of the afternoon started off a bit yuck as I had some blood tests and stuff. Needles are no fun.
BUT, later in the day my wife and I went to an Irish pub in our local town to see one of our favourite local IrTrad bands. That was great.
This evening, my mates Robin (tenor banjo), Chris (guitar), Ken (fiddle) and I (mandolin, tin whistle) played a few tune sets and songs in my own local pub. The landlady is from Dublin and she cooked coddle - including a vegetarian version for Ken and me!
Had a great evening and the music went down really well. I think it was the closest I've played to a real gig since I quit The Ploughmen.
I saw The Dubliners play in Dunstable last night and the venue didn't sell Guinness???!!!??!?!??! The Dubs were brilliant - the venue was cr@p. I made up for lost Guinness time today.
