Just a question about solid woods

Gloss finish is independent of solid wood.
The paper you got applies to all ukuleles in general although there is greater concern for humidity with solid wood ukes.
In many cases you can look at the sound hole edge and see the laminates. You can also compare the grain of the sides on the outside with the grain of the inside. With laminates you will usually see a difference in grain.
Enjoy your uke.

I'd bet that MGM was correct in telling you it's laminate. Maybe they just include the wood care paper with all of their ukes.

But flame mahogany at that price - I'm betting laminate.

One way you can often tell is to pay attention to the wood grain on the back of the uke, then compare that to the inside (what you see through the sound hole). Does what you see on the outside match what you see on the inside?
