It was one year ago today that I posted my first YouTube video. It was a song by Pink Martini. I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate one year with another PM song. Here it is! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxoKMDNfx3A)

Posting videos on YT has improved my performance ability a lot. Because I know that folks like y'all are watching, I practice, practice, practice! And because of YT, I discovered Ukulele Underground. And the vids on this web site and forum discussions have helped my playing ability even more!

Thank you, everybody!!!!:worship:

I tried a kazoo on this and decided it sounded too silly. Can you imagine?

I tried for a Victoria Vox trumpet kind of sound, but my voice is too low. Maybe a trombone....?
:p

Still leaning towards the kazoo. Maybe an empty Chicklet box.

Or you could take a cue from the Mills Brothers and do mouth trumpet (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x105uz_mills-brothers-1932-tiger-rag_music)...

The Mills Bros. are bloody amazing. So much sound from four voices and a guitar.

I think it is a great bit of showmanship, very nice. I would like to see the tab so I can dream about playing it someday.

Very cool! :nana:
I'm with Deach on the kazoo; that would have set it off even that much better.

Every time someone says "Pink Martini," I've got "Donde estas, Yolanda" stuck in my head for a week.

Hey Uki,
the chords you posted on the video are:

F, C9, F, F7
Bb, Bbm, F, Fm, C7
F, A7, Dm, G7

But they are off.
I watched the video and wrote down the chords that you used.
They are actually:

Verse:
F Eaug F Eaug
F Eaug F F7
Bb Bbm F Fm C7 or C

Chorus:
Bb Bbm F G7-Gdim-G7 C 9787
(play whole thing twice)

Maybe you should change the chords on your video.
Just letting you know.
I wrote out exactly what he played, but it's a bit longer and unnecessary.
If anyone wants it, just pm me.

These are from the YouTube version. The chord names are for guitar, for ukulele C becomes F, D becomes G, E becomes A, F becomes Bb, G becomes C, A becomes D, etc.. I am not certain the A6 (D6) chord is correct. Cute song.

C Gma7#5 C Gma7#5
The sun has left and forgotten me
C Gma7#5 C Gma7#5
It's dark, I cannot see
F F Fm Fm
Why does this rain pour down? I'm gonna drown
C Cm G7 N.C. D-string only
In a sea of deep confusion

C Gma7#5 C Gma7#5
Somebody told me, I don't know who
C C7 F Fm
Whenever you are sad and blue
C E Am D7
And you're feelin' all alone and left behind
F Fm C C
Just take a look inside and you will find

F F Fm Fm
You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
C C C C
Hang on, things will be all right
D7 D7 D7 D7
Even when it's dark and not a bit of spark ling
G7 N.C. A6 N.C. D-string only
Sing-song sunshine from above, spreading rays of sunny love

C C Fm Fm
Just hang on, hang on to the vine
C C C C
Stay on, soon you'll be divine
D7 D7 D7 D7
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
G7 N.C. A6 N.C. D-string only
Something's coming up ahead to turn your tears to dew instead

C Gma7#5 C Gma7#5
And so I hold on to his advice
C C7 F Fm
When change is hard and not so nice
C E Am D7
You listen to your heart the whole night through
E7 Fm G C G9 C6
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you

what do you mean C becomes F? A C is a C is a C... doesn't matter what instrument it's played on.

*confused*

Your first video was a Pink Martini ukulele cover? You're so cool.

My first view was probably a cat flushing a toilet..
