There's a bathroom on the right

My wife and I were in the Denver area last week and heard a solo acoustic version of this by John Fogerty on KBCO (Boulder radio station). He actually sang "There's a bathroom on the right" once toward the end. The next time around it was back to "bad moon on the rise".

It is quite amazing what we hear when we listen to records. For years I always
thought that "Shake rattle and roll" was "Shake Marylin Monroe"
Which might have been a better line anyway.

Then there was that great Eagles hit "After the poisonous summer have gone"

Mishearing lyrics is termed a Mondegreen

Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,
Oh, where hae ye been?
They hae slain the Earl O' Moray,
And Lady Mondegreen.

The actual fourth line is "And laid him on the green"

I am sure others have their own misheard lines from songs.
