We had a really tremendous get-together at Belper in Derbyshire last Sunday. Everyone was dressed like this (except for Caroline who took the photo).

I took along a few of my favourite instruments for people to try.

The Re-Entrants were playing. if you have not heard them, check them out on YT.

Also playing were Perilous Mojo and The Anything Goes Orchestra. Krabbers did a few numbers, as did lots of others. Everyone was terrific.

Here is my first song. I have sung it several times before, but I like the song.

Raglan Road

I dressed like that all through high school.

Nice performance.

Dress sense looks casual enough to me,

You don't travel light with all those ukes Ken!

Looks as if you had a great time of it and great folky rendition of Raglan Road

The instruments all belong to Ohana, but they did completely fill my car.

There is a recording of all three of us (Tony, Krabbers and me) all playing together that may appear on YT. Unlucky Mum is playing along too and others.

I don't know Ken. My 83 year old mom from the Deep South of the US loves your music, but she may have to stop referring to you as "that proper English gentleman, who plays the bluegrass ukulele." :) She loves your guitar channel too.

What a treat it was to hear all of you guys jamming together.

Ha ha! That's great.

Didn't know about the Re-entrants. Thanks!

You know, Ken, dressed like that y'all could drop into middle Tennessee anywhere and blend right in. The ukes, on the other hand, would stick out like a sore thumb. Everyone would be asking what kind of mandolins they were.

And the name of the trio is, "The Plaidmen".

Why not "Chubby Chequers"?
