in garageband theres a function that lets you listen to yourself as you record, i was wondering if windows had a software that cold do the same. not worried if its free or not just want to know so i could get it one day. thanks :)

Reaper can do it. It's only $60. Sort of a poor man's pro tools.

I think almost all software is confusing at first. In the Kristal Help files there are tutorials. The Recording tutorial deals with monitoring while recording.

All of the multitrack recording software will allow you to listen to prerecorded tracks while recording another, but each one is a bit different.
