Hello!

I'm looking for some nice, calm French music with a lot of ukulele involved. But right now I can only find mediocre covers of songs across the net. Does anyone know of any bands or musicians who are like this? French, ukulele players? I guess it's an odd combination, but I love French music and I love the ukulele, so the two together is WOW, to me.

Thanks for any help!

Try the music of Victoria Vox. She is an American (I believe) who plays the uke and sings some of her songs in French....

Les Chaud Lapins (http://www.leschaudslapins.com/) are fantastic. Old-timey music in French.

Also check out "C'est Noye" by Victoria Vox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lb41kH4vL4

I love these girls too: http://www.youtube.com/user/Peyrson

Hope this helps!

I can recommend this site: http://www.francetabs.com

I learned to play Aux Champs Elysées by Joe Dassin

Chords here: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/j/joe_dassin/les_champs-elysees_crd.htm

and Les Comédiens by Charles Aznavour

This here is a guitar video but it's easy to adapt to ukulele (C Am F G7, in last part of the verse C E7 Am D7 G7 / C Am F6 G7)

I like Albin de la Simone but don't know how to play the songs.

And Vincent Delerm:

For some French classics chords are available and seem relatively easy to play, let me know what you think:
Alain Souchon - La Vie ne vaut rien

Joe Dassin - La Fleur aux Dents

Lundi au Soleil - originally by Claude Francois whose dancing is hilarious

but singing is much better by Keren Ann and Vincent Delerm here:

3emegauche, who have a Youtube channel, have LOTS of acoustic music. There is a handful of ukulele, but it's not hard to find. And the vast majority is French.
