Uncle George will be assisted by our own Bill Porter and Ed Forbes (longtime students/protoges of Uncle George) to teach some ukulele workshops in the unique and beautiful "Uncle George" style. Be prepared to play chords "outside of the first position" to add amazing color and character to your ukulele repetoire. Topics will be:
** alternative vamps
** moving past the third fret
** some 9th chords.
A variety of music will be used, some Hawaiian, Big Band and Popular tunes. The first session is Saturday May 10th and will continue as long as there is interest. Uncle George had planned to conduct the classes himself until his stroke prevented him from playing. Bill and Ed have agreed to share what we have learned over the last four years with any interested ukulele players. The sessions will be open to any one who shows up. Seating will be outside so dress appropriately for the weather.
