Canon in D (J. Pachelbel - full version, with tabs)

Yes itsme, that's true. I updated the description of the video on youtube as follows:

JuKeBox661 — 30. April 2010 — Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D major, arranged (transcribed from original, 28 variations of the Canon theme) and played on Kala acacia tenor ukulele. Enjoy!

Tabs available: http://www.box.net/shared/33zk51t082
TuxGuitar: http://www.box.net/shared/q5jpht0xqu
transcribed from: http://www.free-scores.com/PDF_EN/pac...

Playing two tracks ukulele accompaniment, one playing simple chords (D - A - Bm - F#m - G - D - G - A), the second picking arpeggios. Added fretless bass in two octaves. The solo ukulele was overdubbed to create the Canon. Recorded with ZoomH2 and HD handycam. Mixed with audacity and video arranged with Magix video deluxe 15. Background video is part of the asian garden within the botanical garden in Erlangen, Germany.

Wow! I feel deeply honored. Thanks UUStaff for the video of the week! And thanks to all subscribers and listeners!!

Big hug,
Jens (ruukie)

Very nice!

Tech question:
How do you synchronize your playing with the other parts? Did you record one "master track" and then listen to it while recording the others? Or did you listen to something else and play along with it? Did you listen to it on the computer you were using to record, or did you use something like an MP3 player? I was wondering about things like latency where the sound you heard isn't aligned with what's being recorded, that sort of thing.

Wow! I love classical music and this was off the charts. I downloaded the mp3 to m y ipod. Thanks!

I made a backtrack with the chords and arpeggio using a metronome and played a solo mastertrack again with metronome. The canon was done by copying the mastertrack-solo and moving it 8 measures (if I remember correctly) using audacity. Same applies to any latency issues.

@Ronnie Aloha and Pippin: Your comment made me smile and happy. Thanks for that!

P.S. sorry, I didn't realize that I got unanswered questions ...

Very pretty Jen, as expected and congrats on the Video of the Week!

Thanks Craig, I was lucky and it made me very happy :) But don't expect too much from a one-year uke player ;) There's so much to learn, and classics are a good basis.
