As a good lost fan I was watching Jimmy Kimmel live after the series finale and as they introduced the composer Michael Giacchino conducting the band he was holding a fluke! Who knew that this academy award winning composer was that attached to our beloved instrument.
This doesn't surprise me. He scored the Pixar movie, Up. It's been noted that there is a ukulele over the Carl and Ellie's mantle in the movie, and a number of Pixar artists formed a uke band that played at a local retirement home in order to observe and sketch the residents for reference.
