New to UU! And am looking to buy first ukuele!

So I've been to amazon.com, and it seems like LU 11 and LU 21 are the same, yet everyone buys LU 21 despite the fact it's about 10$ more expensive. Any reasons and advice?

I think the difference is mostly cosmetic. The 21 has the white binding around the body's edges, and is probably a little more nicely made. But they both sound really good - I played them in a store last weekend, and found them extremely similar in sound. Strung with the white Aquila strings, those are great sounding ukes!

I've had an LU-21 for about three years. I had to spend like 2 hours messing with it to get it to play in tune all the way up the neck, I have probably put a total of 15-20 hours working on it and it sounds very good now (in tune). An expensive uke still has better tone. But the point is I like my LU-21 a lot, it has been all over the world in my suitcase (it has not got a case of itt's own), it has never broken and plays well.

I think the biggest difference is the LU-11 has a nato wood neck - eastern mahogany. The LU-21 has a rosewood neck.
