Any good Rock songs i can play on the ukulele

I want some help finding chords to some good 70s - 90s rockn roll songs

I usually just google the song or artist and add "ukulele chords" at the end. Chordie also provides the option to change the chord fingerings from guitar to uke for most songs. It's on the right hand side. Click on "Guitar" and select "Ukulele C-Tuning"

ultimate-guitar.com is also good because you can auto-transpose to a key you can play/sing.

There's also a thread here that has a list of tabs for uke songs, I'm sure that will help.

Cliffs of Dover is a good one to learn how to play!

If you can play three chords you can play 75% of rock and blues. With two chords, you can play 90% of Johnny Cash tunes (perhaps a bit of an exaggeration...)

It's worthwhile to learn how to play a basic 12-bar blues in any case.

Omg, I am such an idiot. I have been using Chordie since I started playing about a year and a half ago and I never saw that you could click on "Ukulele C-Tuning". I thought it was like other sites and just for guitars and I had to figure out the uke chords. Thanks for posting this. Sheesh......

I just google "song title chords". That way I don't restrict the search too much.

I mostly use UltimateGuitar.com. I'm not worried about having the chord symbol as long as the chord letters are there. It's easy enough to look up chords I don't know. I have the Kindle Edition of "Chords that Ukulele Players Really Want to Know" by Barry Maz (Bazmaz on UU). A very useful reference.

Ultimate Guitar's transpose feature is very useful. Saves me bothering to work out a transposition, though much of the time, I can transpose on the fly if I need to. Very useful when I am trying to find a good singable key for a song.

Classic Country Music Lyrics is another site I like. They have a link to an online transposer (here). Just copy and paste the lyrics with chords, select your original and new key and output format and click on the "Click Here" button and you will get the new chords. It says the original key is optional but I find you do have to put in or you get an error message "unable to determine original key".

A lot of early rock songs are three chord songs based on variants of the standard blues progression.

Guitarists love playing in E so a lot of rock song chords are given in E. I tend to take them down a tone to D as long as it remains in my singable range as it makes it much easier on the uke.

It really does work, especially with my RISA LP Tenor plugged into my AC30. Those humbuckers really scream.
Sounds great on an acoustic but even better with the electric! Maybe I'll have to make that my next YouTube with some drums backing me.
