Hi all,
Here's a 7-string uke I've been building. I have called it a 'Tiplito' (small Tiple), hence the label. I used wood dye on the top half of the body only to create a look like Portuguese Cavaquinhos or Venezuelan Cuatros have with theirt scratchplates on the top half. I built it out of pine. The position dots on the fretboard are white wood filler.

The bridge glue is still drying, but I will string it up tonight.

Neat.

What will the courses be? And, will they be duplicates or octaves?

I really want to hear it! Wow, it could really be awesome. And a Soprano!

Thanks for letting us know what you're up to.

Keep uke-in',

It'll be in 4 courses, like a taropatch but with a single course for the lowest. I am planning to string it up initially in mandolin tuning (G DD aa ee), but will try 8 string uke tuning and various others later.

Looks interesting. Lets see some more pics with the strings on.

I really like the look of that thing, very unique. Just curious, why'd you choose seven strings?
